The new branch will be located at Deerpark Retail Park and is expected to open in September, though the official date has not yet been confirmed. The company says it will recruit between eight and ten staff for the store, with hiring still in progress.

JYSK, which operates around 3,000 stores globally, launched its first Kerry location in Tralee's Manor West in 2021. The expansion reflects the retailer's continued growth across Ireland and signals a vote of confidence in the local retail market.

A company spokesperson confirmed to Radio Kerry that the new store will mirror JYSK's global concept, offering a range of Scandinavian-style home furnishings at competitive prices.

The development is expected to provide a modest but welcome employment boost for the Killarney area and strengthen the town's retail offering.
