Highlighting key themes of emotional relevance, strategic orientation, and innovation, the trade fair reflected the sector's shift towards consumer-driven experiences. Oliver Frese, Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse, remarked, 'In a year that is currently still characterised by economic restraint, spoga+gafa underlined the key role it plays as an international industry meeting point. This success not only underpins the international relevance of the event, but also stands for a visible transformation that we will consistently shape with spoga+gafa over the coming years. Progress is not possible without change.'

Looking ahead to 2026, spoga+gafa will adopt a revised concept designed to strengthen its market position and meet evolving industry demands for clearer structure and target group orientation. A significant innovation will be the introduction of the "Outdoor Adventure" hall, complementing existing sections such as "Living," "Creation & Care," and "BBQs." This new area will focus on adventure, activities, and lifestyle, aiming to attract outdoor distributors, content creators, and brands eager to tell immersive stories.

The outdoor furniture segment will also see a strategic overhaul, with a curated exhibition space in Hall 9 dedicated exclusively to manufacturers committed to sustainable production, short delivery routes, and high design quality. This approach aims to boost the European market's profile and distinguish spoga+gafa on the international stage.

Other key developments include the consolidation of Asia-Sourcing under the "Garden Sourcing Hub" for international buyers, and the biennial "Flavour Market," which will enhance synergies between BBQ technology, culinary experiences, and cross-selling opportunities.

spoga+gafa 2026 will take place from 22 to 24 June in Cologne, shifting to a standard even-year schedule to optimise international participation and travel planning.

Koelnmesse continues to expand its portfolio of globally renowned trade fairs within Living, Contract & Public Spaces, including imm cologne, ORGATEC, interzum, and aquanale, further strengthening its leadership in the furniture and garden sectors worldwide.
