Fritz Hansen is fully acquired by Danish investment firm

On 1 July 2025, Danish investment firm Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker acquired full ownership of renowned furniture brand Fritz Hansen, following a buyout of CW Obel's 35% stake in Skandinavisk Holding A/S.

The move consolidates Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker's position not only within Fritz Hansen but also in Tivoli, as the group now holds a 57% stake in the Copenhagen-listed entertainment company.

'This gives us better opportunities to think long-term and bring our experience and skills to bear in the best possible way,' said Claus Gregersen, CEO of Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker, who emphasised the desire to be a more "significant owner".

CW Obel CEO Anders C. Obel described the partnership as an "excellent collaboration", adding that the deal allows capital to be reallocated to other investments. He will step down from the board of Fritz Hansen, with Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker CFO Steffen Kaj Pedersen appointed as interim replacement.

Although the value of the transaction remains undisclosed, the agreement marks a major shift in Denmark's design and heritage sector, with no expected operational impact for Fritz Hansen.
