Crafted in Malta, curated from Europe

How Domestica supports interior designers with global style and local soul

Domestica began over 55 years ago as a small joinery workshop. Today, it has grown into one of Malta's most established interior furnishing companies, offering both imported design collections and in-house craftsmanship. Under the leadership of Managing Director Chris Vassallo Cesareo, the company continues to evolve, positioning itself as a trusted partner for interior designers and architects seeking both global aesthetics and locally tailored solutions.

At the heart of Domestica's offering is a carefully selected portfolio of European brands, chosen to complement the Maltese context in scale, character, and lifestyle. Among the brands represented are Zuiver, Dutchbone, Egoitaliano, and Pedini kitchens, each contributing a distinct perspective on contemporary living. These are just some of the names curated with purpose and sensitivity to Malta's evolving design scene.

'Every product we bring in has to make sense for Malta, not just in terms of aesthetics, but also scale, practicality, and how well it complements the way people live here,' explains Brand Director Katia Vassallo Cesareo.

But Domestica is far more than a furniture importer. For years, it has been a key collaborator for interior professionals, not only supplying iconic brands, but also supporting every stage of project development. From designer-led showroom walkthroughs and sample preparation to site coordination and after-sales follow-up, Domestica's approach is consistently hands-on and solution-driven.

This workshop allows Domestica to go beyond what's on display, creating tailor-made furniture that complements imported pieces. Whether it's a bespoke wardrobe for a residential project or a reception counter for a commercial fit-out, the facility offers flexibility without compromising quality.

'The in-house workshop is where we truly stand apart,' says Chris Vassallo Cesareo. 'We're able to take on ambitious design briefs and deliver a finished result that blends high-end imported pieces with made-to-measure solutions, all coordinated internally.'

Domestica's story is rooted in its Maltese heritage, yet it's anything but stuck in the past. With Chris and Katia at the helm, the brand continues to evolve through digital platforms, strategic engagement with architects, and a deeper, more design‑centric narrative. Long‑standing relationships with Maltese craftspeople, European suppliers, and a loyal client base continue to reinforce the trust it has earned over the decades.

Rooted in tradition but driven by ambition, Domestica continues to evolve, welcoming new suppliers, exploring fresh collaborations, and staying true to its values of quality and craftsmanship. It's a company where heritage meets forward thinking, project after project.
