As part of its wind-down, the company, Lewis Furniture, Beds & Carpets, has launched a "closing down and retirement sale" to clear remaining stock. Official opening hours from 23 June 2025 are yet to be confirmed, and the final trading date will depend on the progress of the sale.
In a statement, the business said: 'Lewis Furniture, Beds & Carpets is retiring after 129 years serving the people of Staines and surrounding areas. Grab a bargain now, when they're gone, they're gone! Opening times now vary. Please check our website or phone for details.'
The closure marks the end of an era for a business that has served generations of customers in the local area. Lewis Furniture's decision reflects both the personal milestone of retirement and a broader trend of long-established independents exiting the retail landscape.
