Hay unveils sustainable "Layout Chair" at Copenhagen's 3daysofdesign

Hay has introduced the Layout Chair, a new seating collection by French designer Julien Renault, during the 3daysofdesign event at HAY House Copenhagen. Designed with adaptability and sustainability in mind, the Layout Chair is made from at least 96% post-consumer recycled plastic.

The chair is built for circularity, with all components designed to be disassembled, repaired, and replaced, extending the product's lifespan. Its modular construction allows users to customise the chair to suit various settings by mixing and matching shells, upholstery, bases, and legs.

According to Hay, the Layout Chair is intended to meet "life's shifting contexts", offering versatility without compromising on design or environmental responsibility.

The collection will be available for purchase from August, signalling Hay's ongoing commitment to sustainable innovation in contemporary furniture design.
