Carl Hansen & Søn unveils majestic new flagship at 3daysofdesign

Celebrated Danish furniture maker Carl Hansen & Søn has inaugurated its brand-new flagship store in Bredgade, Copenhagen, during this year's 3 Days of Design festival. The grand opening sets the stage for Framing Compositions, an immersive exhibition that explores the union of form, material, and tradition through a carefully curated display of design classics and contemporary innovations.

Spanning over 600 square metres across three levels, ground floor, mezzanine, and a rooftop terrace, the flagship store presents an expansive showcase of the brand's craftsmanship and design heritage. Anchoring the exhibition are standout pieces such as Hans J. Wegner's CH290 Series, characterised by its "stringent and informal expression," and the rare CH621 Swivel Chair, offering a fresh glimpse into Wegner's seldom-seen office furniture.

Also featured are Nanna & Jørgen Ditzel's Vita Sofa and coffee table, whose bold and playful silhouettes underscore the duo's expressive design language. Other highlights include Anker Bak's Wall Desk, tailored for compact living, and Børge Mogensen's BM0121 extendable circular dining table, praised for its functional elegance.

'3daysofdesign has developed into a tremendously important event for us, probably the most significant event of the year. During this festival, we showcase our craftsmanship and exceptional design in our home ground, which is extra special this year, as we just recently opened a new, majestic flagship store in Copenhagen,' said Knud Erik Hansen, CEO and third-generation owner of Carl Hansen & Søn.

Lighting and seating designs also shine throughout the store. Marianne Tuxen's Tulip Pendant evokes modern elegance with a classic twist, while Vilhelm Lauritzen's Foyer Bench, presented in a shorter version, balances slender construction with plush comfort.

Visitors can ascend to the rooftop terrace, transformed into a serene retreat featuring Carl Hansen & Søn's extensive outdoor furniture collection. The spotlight here is on the new Embrace Outdoor Lounge Series by EOOS, which blends contemporary design with the natural elements of open-air living.

Located at Bredgade 33, DK-1260 Copenhagen K, the exhibition is open from 18–20 June 2025, from 10:00 to 18:00 daily. Framing Compositions offers a rare opportunity to experience Danish design's enduring legacy and its continued evolution, all within an architectural space that mirrors the brand's commitment to quality, aesthetics, and innovation.
