Celebrating a decade-long creative alliance, Ghidini1961 and renowned Dutch designer Richard Hutten unveil a trio of new works at Salone del Mobile, underscoring a partnership that has 'given life to a constellation of objects capable of transcending time: in form, in spirit, in material.'

Since their first collaboration in 2015, the synergy between Ghidini1961 and Hutten has been grounded in 'trust, intuition and mutual exchange.' This shared vision has resulted in more than twenty standout designs, from the iconic Tip Top accessories and Opera coffee tables, to the Double O ice bucket and Butterfly coat rack, each demonstrating Ghidini1961's mastery of ennobled metals and sartorial detail, paired with Hutten's conceptual playfulness.
'Hutten, a key figure in Dutch design and co-founder of the Droog collective, has brought his distinctive style to the Ghidini1961 catalogue: play as a method, irony as a language, the unexpected as a principle,' the brand notes. His approach, though whimsical, remains 'always rigorous, always curated.' Recent re-editions of earlier works in the vibrant Candy finish affirm the longevity and flexibility of Hutten's designs, at once playful and enduring.
Marking the 10-year milestone are three new pieces that reflect a refined, forward-thinking take on tradition:
- Plomis, a modular bookcase "inspired by flowers," transforms visual lightness into structural depth. By alternating wood and solid metal, it generates "a lively tension, which becomes rhythm and reflection, a play of shadows, an architectural presence."
- Hillary, an evolved dining chair, amplifies comfort and elegance. "Like a tailored jacket: elegant, reassuring, crafted to last," this new iteration softens the form while preserving its artisanal essence.
- Dune, a hand-knotted New Zealand wool carpet, channels desert landscapes. "It evokes the undulations of the desert, the light that flows on the sand, the material that takes shape. Tactile, scenic, silently magnetic."
'I am very satisfied with this successful collaboration,' says Hutten, who continues to explore the edge of visual narrative and material integrity through Ghidini1961's production.
Founded in 2016 as the design division of Ghidini Giuseppe Bosco, Ghidini1961 is known for transforming traditional Italian metalwork into timeless objects of contemporary luxury. As this creative partnership evolves, the company reaffirms its status in the B2B interior design sector as a leading innovator in functional art and exclusive furnishings.
