Among the most emblematic innovations of 2025, the HAORI lounge chair embodies the vision of harmonious living with the environment proposed by ADAL, a Japanese company that, through its brand Look into Nature, explores the value of sustainable, artisanal design deeply connected to nature. At the heart of the project lies a fusion of organic materials, tailor-like craftsmanship, and Japanese culture, in line with the theme "WEAVERS", the central thread of the entire collection, a manifesto that expresses the art of weaving relationships between nature and craftsmanship, tradition and modernity. Unveiled as a preview at the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2025, the lounge chair is designed by Yosuke Kinoshita, one half of Canuch, a Tokyo-based design collective he co-founded with Yusuke Noguchi. Together, they also serve as art directors of the Look into Nature brand, bringing a multidisciplinary approach that blends material research with an acute attention to sensory experience, shaping both environments and furnishings.

HAORI is a tribute to the act of "dressing" the domestic space with organic forms, natural materials, and an aesthetic rooted in tradition yet projected into the present. Inspired by the haori, the flowing, enveloping kimono jacket, the chair reinterprets this cultural reference with a contemporary lens. Its wooden frame supports a shell crafted from woven igusa fibers, a type of traditional Japanese rush used in tatami mats, moulded into a curved, elegant profile that feels like a natural embrace. The weave creates a three-dimensional texture with a smooth surface, a glossy "net" that enhances the colour and harmonises with walnut and oak wood tones.
The generous, soft internal padding transforms the chair into a welcoming nest, a place to sink into for maximum comfort. A key element of ADAL / Look into Nature's poetic vision, igusa serves as the expressive core of many of the studio's projects: its intentionally minimal forms highlight the material's tactile quality, allowing it to emerge as the true protagonist and to embody an idea of authentic design. Thus, HAORI is more than just a lounge chair, it is a piece of furniture that conveys the brand's vision: reimagining domestic spaces as interior landscapes, where design nurtures daily well-being through a balanced harmony of aesthetics, materiality, and functionality.
