Aakjaer Furniture redefines Danish heritage at 3daysofdesign 2025

Aakjaer Furniture marks its third consecutive appearance at 3daysofdesign with the launch of three new design icons, underscoring its commitment to bridging Danish design heritage with contemporary interiors. The company will present its new collection as part of the curated Design Hub Exhibition at The Social House, Store Regnegade 12, 2nd floor, in central Copenhagen from 18–20 June.

The centrepiece of Aakjaer's showcase is a reimagined version of the traditional Danish corner cabinet – once a fixture in homes across Denmark, now revitalised for modern living. Based on original sketches by founder Jørgen Aakjær, the piece has been brought into the present by CEO and designer Nanna Aakjær.

'We're excited to meet both familiar and new faces during the festival. This is where we feel the interest, receive honest feedback, and share the story behind our furniture – a story that goes all the way back to my grandfather, Jørgen Aakjær,' said Nanna Aakjær, CEO & Designer.

This latest interpretation fuses form and function in a sculptural cabinet that honours the past while engaging with current design sensibilities. Alongside it, Aakjaer Furniture introduces two new additions to its popular Arcus Collection: a mirror and a coat rack, both embracing the brand's signature profiled edges and organic silhouettes.

'We're constantly working to balance heritage and innovation. It's not about copying the past, but about letting it inspire us to create something that is relevant, and built to last,' added Aakjær.

The exhibition is part of The Design Hub, a collective presentation celebrating the intersection of classic and contemporary Scandinavian design. Each showcased piece reflects a deep understanding of the balance between aesthetics and practicality, targeting both commercial and residential sectors.

By participating in this prominent design gathering, Aakjaer Furniture continues to position itself as a forward-thinking brand rooted in tradition, offering bespoke-quality furniture that contributes atmosphere and identity to interiors across sectors.
