This week at 3daysofdesign, Paris-based ADÈLE Collections presents the work of Diama, a Senegalese textile workshop focused on handwoven home linens using organic, hand-spun cotton. The exhibition brings attention to a collaborative production approach rooted in local agricultural systems and artisanal know-how.

Diama operates from Rabalma, a weaving workshop established as a group of artisans in the suburbs of Dakar. The brand is anchored in a circular chain of production that prioritises the sourcing of rain-fed cotton, hand-spun by women's cooperatives in central Senegal. The resulting fabrics, woven on narrow-width looms, are dyed using plant-based extracts according to a closed-loop protocol. 'The dyes are made entirely from plant extracts according to an environmentally friendly protocol that contributes to the development of an ecological dyeing practice,' the company states.
The product range presented in Copenhagen includes customisable plaids, cushion covers, table linens, and voiles under collections such as FOOLF, AADA, DOLO and IOODI. Diama's textiles are defined by their modularity, narrow woven bands assembled by hand, and the variable texture derived from hand-spun yarns. All products are made from certified GOTS organic cotton, with some incorporating blends of cotton and linen or merino wool.
Customisation is a central offer. Traditional looms limit maximum fabric widths, but the flexibility in weaving length and pattern adaptation enables bespoke solutions for interior designers and architects. 'Weavers, with their ancestral know-how, have a great mastery of weaving techniques. They can adapt the pattern, weave density, and weave to meet specific requests,' Diama states.

Presented within the ADÈLE Collections showroom concept, Diama's display aligns with the curatorial direction favouring low-impact materials and artisanal techniques. ADÈLE Collections works with a global network of workshops to source and distribute handcrafted wall coverings, woven leather, rugs, and textiles. 'We believe in traditional know-how, short circuits, handmade, rare weavings and artisans from around the world,' the company explains.
The partnership between Diama and ADÈLE Collections is based on the integration of local fibre networks, manual production, and material traceability. According to Diama, 'Priority is given to fair trade cotton produced in Senegal and spun by hand. This cotton is monitored with complete transparency, from fibre to finished product.'
The 3daysofdesign exhibition situates Diama's practice within current discussions about responsible textile manufacturing. The focus remains on material origin, slow fabrication processes, and adaptation to bespoke interior use. The inclusion in ADÈLE Collections' 2025 catalogue positions the Diama range within the European specification market, where demand for certified, traceable materials continues to grow.
