Located in Versilia, just few steps from the centre and the beaches of Forte dei Marmi in the exclusive Roma Imperiale district, the Luxury Resort Imperiale represents the perfect blend of sophistication, functionality, and contemporary design. Clean geometric lines, a refined use of materials, and a strong architectural identity create an immersive hospitality experience. The essence of Versilia is present, reinterpreted with an international flair, where travertine stone evokes the roots of Michele Vitaloni, and lighting transforms every corner into a work of art.© Daniele Laurino | Michele Vitaloni + Partners
Geometric and rational lines define the space with precision, creating broad, evocative perspectives. Every detail reflects design mastery, where the balance between formal rigour and aesthetic simplicity gives shape to an architecture of elegant essentiality. Originally established in the 1960s by Silvio Angelini, the property has evolved over time with new services and renovations.
The latest restyling project was developed by Michele Vitaloni + Partners, aiming to enhance both the interior and exterior spaces with a renewed sense of harmony and value.
The atmosphere is both welcoming and refined, designed to evoke a sense of well-being and harmony from the very first glance. The combination of generous volumes, natural light, and tactile finishes creates balanced spaces where every detail is carefully crafted to enhance the seamless flow between areas. The selected materials, chosen for their aesthetic quality and functional performance, help define a coherent, contemporary architectural language that engages in constant dialogue with the surrounding nature.
The project stands out for its original and creative use of ceramic materials, which go beyond their traditional role as simple coverings to become true architectural elements. The surfaces, entirely designed by Michele Vitaloni, play a central role in the hotel's aesthetic identity. Marazzi porcelain stoneware has been used in an unconventional way, experimenting with formats, geometries, and unexpected placements. This innovative approach elevates ceramic material into an expressive language, seamlessly blending visual sophistication with functional performance.

Arranged across the ground floor, upper level, and the charming turret, each room offers a unique combination of style, atmosphere, and spatial design, reflecting its own personality.
What unites them is the meticulous attention to detail and the thoughtful selection of materials: ceramic, marble, and carefully chosen woods come together to create welcoming, elegant spaces full of character.
'The role of the interior designer,' says Michele Vitaloni, 'is not to give the client what they wanted, but what they never even dreamed of.'
Salvatori marbles in the bathrooms
The architectural concept is based on the desire to overcome the typical uniformity of hospitality design by introducing a thoughtful diversification of spaces: colours, textures, furnishings, Flos lighting fixtures, and accessories are uniquely combined for each room.
The interior design is precisely calibrated: material choices favour natural elements, featuring Salvatori marbles in the bathrooms, matte finishes, and high-quality textiles. The colour palette ranges from neutral and earthy tones to bolder blue accents, always maintaining a harmonious visual and sensory balance.
Among the bedroom furnishings, the Chemise bed stands out, offered in delicate shades of navy blue and taupe, alongside the NeoWall bed, characterised by generous volumes and a soft border that wraps around the entire mattress perimeter, providing both comfort and visual continuity to the space (Living Divani).
