Natuzzi Italia, the Italian lifestyle brand globally renowned for its Mediterranean flair, presents "Rooted in Harmony", a collection that marks the brand's evolution by rediscovering and celebrating its roots. The symbol of this journey is the Amama project, designed by Andrea Steidl, which embodies the deep connection to Puglia, the land of origin where everything began 66 years ago, as well as reinterpreting the DNA of the company in a contemporary way.

Following the international acclaim received with Mirai, the project won prestigious design awards in 2024, including European Product Design Award, Good Design Award, Elle Deco China Best of Year, and Archiproducts Design Award, as well as the Red Dot Design Award and Muse Design Award in 2025, Andrea Steidl signs a new collaboration with Natuzzi Italia, designing Amama.
Amama is a modular system that radically reinterprets the concept of conviviality and versatility. A compositional project designed to go beyond the traditional idea of the sofa, opening up to dual-facing configurations that enable a free and multidirectional use of space. Hence the evocative palindrome name, Amama, expressing the principle of symmetry and continuity that inspires the entire design system.
This gives rise to a compositional concept in which the backrest or armrest are no longer mere accessory elements, but become support surfaces, shelves, side tables, or storage units. A dynamic language emerges, made of overlapping forms and material interweaving, where different materials and volumes engage in dialogue to create an aesthetic that combines constructional precision with freedom of use.
The exploration of form and function extends to the other furnishings in the collection, designed to complete the living space. The table, both rigorous and minimal, stands out for its balance between formal essentiality and sculptural presence, and is available in wood or lacquered finishes. The sideboard, on the other hand, combines a container with clean, geometric lines and a rounded, organic base, emphasising the stylistic signature of the entire collection: elegance, contemporaneity, and multifunctionality.
'I reflected not only on the formal value of the project but also on its use.' Said Andrea Steidl. 'Through the dialogue between something soft and comfortable and contrasting solid and architectural elements, I imagined a space where you could read a book or have a drink comfortably seated, in a convivial moment. A solution that strengthens the characteristics of a 360-degree home, an open living space that develops in multiple directions, offering its inhabitants a freer and more versatile experience.'
