Lasvit proudly announces its pivotal role in the reopening of the Fairmont Golden Prague, a landmark brutalist building from the 1970s thoughtfully restored into a modern hub of design, architecture, and hospitality. Under the visionary leadership of architect Marek Tichý, the hotel now blends historic artistry with contemporary craftsmanship, featuring two major bespoke glass installations by Lasvit.

The Fairmont Golden Prague's 250 rooms and suites are adorned with unique, handcrafted glass wall elements, exclusively created by Lasvit's skilled glassmakers. These sculptural panels draw inspiration from the building's iconic facade, introducing a tactile, reflective dimension that complements the hotel's restored interiors, which also feature works by renowned Czechoslovak artists such as Jan Šrámek, René Roubíček, and Čestmír Kafka.
A standout feature lies beneath ground in the Fairmont Spa & Wellness, where Lasvit has installed one of its largest and heaviest glass sculptures to date. Co-designed with Marek Tichý, this monumental installation weighs 17 tonnes and is composed of 2,500 individually hand-cut, shaped, and fractured glass lamellas. The piece evokes the fluidity of water, enhancing the spa's tranquil environment while providing a striking material presence.
Lasvit founder Leon Jakimič reflected on the project's significance: 'I'm excited to see this magical part of Prague come to life in a completely new way. Inside the hotel, I'm curious what kind of emotion all the incredible artworks will evoke. Especially our hand-made glass walls, which are a part of almost every room. And I look forward to the wellness space overlooking the garden, where guests will be greeted by one of the most powerful, largest, and heaviest glass sculptures we've ever created. We can't wait for this special place to become a home for those visiting Lasvit. A space where they can stay, recharge, and experience the soul of what we do.'

Gerhard Struger, Director of Fairmont Golden Prague, praised the collaboration: 'I'm truly excited about our collaboration with Lasvit, whose artistry is present not only in our guest rooms, but also at the entrance to our unique spa. Their bespoke glass walls echo the ceramic tiles of our iconic facade, adding a strong sense of place to Fairmont Golden Prague. The cascading glass installation – a one-of-a-kind artwork – creates an unforgettable welcome to the spa. Our partnership with Lasvit extends beyond Prague; their exceptional designs are featured in many Fairmont and Raffles hotels around the world.'
This project reaffirms Lasvit's dedication to elevating interiors through handcrafted glass, contributing not only to the preservation of historic environments but also to the creation of new cultural landmarks worldwide.
