Immersioni is one of the most compelling works to emerge from the ongoing research of Francesca Brinatti, founder of Labanto, an artistic workshop based in Turin that redefines the mirror as a medium of contemporary expression.

Far from serving merely as tools for reflection, each piece by Labanto emerges as an exploration of living matter: glass, liquid silver, mineral elements, and oxidation processes take centre stage, both visually and conceptually. As the artist herself states: "In the mirror, I don't just see the image of reality, but above all the matter it's made of." From this vision, Immersioni takes shape: an invitation to enter, quite literally, into the physicality of things.
The mirror becomes a layered surface where fine silver merges with transparent glass and the raw force of oxidation. By reviving and reinterpreting an 18th-century silvering technique, Brinatti creates unique, one-of-a-kind pieces where every manual intervention leaves an unmistakable and deeply personal imprint.
