Amazon founder Jeff Bezos shuts down Fifth Avenue in Manhattan for furniture delivery

A viral video has drawn attention to an extraordinary furniture delivery outside 212 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, reportedly for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Captured by Raffi Arslanian, owner of luxury candle brand Thompson Ferrier, the footage shows a massive crane lifting a large, wrapped item towards the top of the 24-storey building at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and 26th Street.

According to the New York Post, Bezos owns five apartments in the building, with a combined value of approximately $119 million. The video shows police escorts, moving trucks, caution tape and barricades temporarily shutting down the street, while several workers managed traffic during the operation.

Arslanian, narrating in the video, said: 'You want to see how Jeff Bezos delivers his furniture? Let me show you.' Pointing to the towering crane, he remarked, 'He owns the top floors there... Today is the day he is getting furniture delivered.' He added humorously, 'Now back to reality, where, when we move, we get a U-Haul and we do it ourselves but we don't close the street.'

The clip has since gone viral on TikTok, attracting millions of views and a flood of comments. One user joked, 'Amazon Prime delivery, billionaire subscription,' while another noted, 'When you're Jeff Bezos, even a whole street takes a coffee break just to move your couch.'

While the nature of the delivery remains unconfirmed, the spectacle highlights the contrast between billionaire lifestyle and everyday living, with social media users both amused and intrigued by the scale of the operation.
