JYSK strengthens its strategic footprint in France with continued expansion

Danish home furnishings retailer JYSK continues to demonstrate its long-term commitment to the French market through a carefully structured expansion strategy aimed at increasing its nationwide presence. With a blend of new store openings, renovations, and strategic relocations, JYSK is reinforcing its position as a key player in the competitive French home retail sector.

Contrary to recent media reports suggesting a withdrawal from France, JYSK has reaffirmed that the country remains a core market for its European growth ambitions. The company's most recent opening in Saint-Parres-aux-Tertres underlines this trajectory. Furthermore, two additional store openings are already scheduled for July and September 2025, signalling continued momentum and confidence in the French retail landscape.

'At JYSK, our strategic priority remains unchanged: to pursue our expansion in France while optimizing our store network,' said a spokesperson for JYSK France. 'This involves not only opening new outlets, but also renovating or relocating certain stores to strengthen the coherence of our territorial presence and remain true to our retail concept.'

The expansion strategy hinges on a dual approach: growth through new locations and efficiency through selective store rationalisation. In some instances, underperforming or logistically challenged stores may be closed, but such actions are part of a broader optimisation effort and not indicative of market retreat.

This disciplined strategy is designed to enhance brand visibility, improve customer accessibility, and align store locations with shifting consumer patterns. By modernising older outlets and introducing JYSK's latest store concepts, the company ensures a consistent shopping experience that reflects its Scandinavian values of functionality, quality, and design at affordable prices.

JYSK currently operates more than 3,200 stores worldwide, with France playing an increasingly pivotal role in its international network. The company's commitment to sustainability, digital transformation, and customer-centric retailing continues to drive its expansion across Europe and beyond.

As part of its long-term vision, JYSK aims to increase its footprint in France significantly over the coming years, leveraging local market insights and maintaining close partnerships with regional suppliers and logistics providers.

The ongoing development in France underscores JYSK's confidence in the market and its ability to adapt to a dynamic retail environment, offering customers across the country greater access to its popular product range.
