Clausen officially took on the role on 2 June 2025. Having started his career as a trade student at Stark and later working at Stark Viborg and Stark Aarhus C, Clausen is returning to the timber trade after three years in purchasing and development at Milton Huse.
Clausen cited Bygma's emphasis on "quality", "people", and "sustainability" as key reasons for joining. 'It has been exciting working with purchasing, but I missed the contact with customers,' he said. 'Finding the right solutions and seeing sales take shape is what drives me.'
His appointment comes just ahead of new climate regulations set to take effect in the construction industry on 1 July. Clausen aims to guide customers toward responsible material choices and make sustainable construction "concrete and accessible". He stated, 'We must be proactive and show our customers which products they can choose for responsible construction.'
Bygma's regional director, Peter Gellert, welcomed Clausen as the ideal fit, noting his "commercial understanding", "human insight", and "green focus".
The Bygma Group operates across more than 125 locations in Northern and Central Europe and employs over 3,000 people.
