For this edition of Flanders Flooring Days, you can once again discover products in manufacturers' showrooms or make new contacts in The Hub at Kortrijk Xpo. COREtec, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, got off to an immediate flying start on Monday.
Innovation trumps
With a view to that strong future, many brand-new products will make their entrance at Flanders Flooring Days. Manufacturers are guaranteed to attract the attention of curious visitors, who hope to discover the cream of floor technology. Both in carpet, hard flooring and accessories, such as corner profiles or adhesives, there is news to glean. Behind every new flooring product there is intensive research - and this will be visible at Flanders Flooring Days. Therefore, attention will also be paid to the results of some innovative research projects.
For example, the closing event of the European research project CISUFLO, a collaboration between Centexbel and 18 European partners, will be hosted. Visitors will get the results of several years of intensive research into ways to make carpet, vinyl and laminate more circular. You will discover these firsts in recycling and installation methods, among others, both at the CISUFLO stand (no. 209) and during substantive seminars, including speakers from Centexbel and the University of Aachen.
The Living Lab Circular Wood Cluster Grensland is also looking for ways to do more with the raw materials we have, in this case wood. In doing so, the project transcends the level of the individual manufacturing company and seeks solutions at system level. Can wood residues serve as raw material for other companies after use? The Living Lab is finding out. With the results, they hope to move the Flemish wood sector forward. At Flanders Flooring Days, they will lift a corner of the veil.

Future-oriented design central
Sustainability clearly plays a leading role in the inspiring programme. Is it a trend or a keeper? According to speaker Judith Van Vliet, sustainability can no longer be ignored. Consumers think long-term when choosing flooring and want to know more about the production of the product. Moreover, it is tiring to have to follow new trends all the time, so she says classics are gaining in importance. You will hear all about it yourself during her talk The Flow of Colour on Wednesday 4 June. Also on Thursday 5 June, Christine Boland talks about trends and how design responds to the spirit of the times. She reveals the design of the times and talks about healing aesthetics, artistic intelligence and crafted minimalism. You will see these and other speakers at work over the next few days during Flanders Flooring Days.
