The MOMOS collection, designed by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales, won in the Greater Good + Environmental Impact category for its reinterpretation of traditional northern Brazilian craftsmanship, crafted with 100% natural wool by the embroidering women of the GAN Women Unit.

The aesthetic of Momos surfaces, with their fractal structure and three-dimensional texture, also offers an exceptional tactile experience thanks to their lightweight, 100% natural felted wool fabric. This is a sustainable, renewable, and durable resource that provides excellent insulation.

The Momos rugs, poufs, and cushions are crafted by the GAN Women Unit, the firm's social mission project that employs women in India specializing in embroidery. Both of these aspects underpin the NYCxDesign Award the Momos collection received in the Greater Good + Environmental Impact category.

Meanwhile, the new Botanica rugs, designed by Bodo Sperlein, have been recognized with an Honoree distinction in the Residential Flooring category for their spectacular biophilic design, their ability to replicate the beauty and organic nature of the natural world, and the complexity of their craftsmanship.

The expressiveness and dynamism of nature
Bodo Sperlein achieved the volumetric effect and realistic depiction of the Botanica rugs' designs, inspired by flora and fungi, through a careful selection of each colour's nuances and the introduction of varying pile heights. By using gradients and calculated changes in shade, Botanica rugs create an illusion of depth and dynamism that enhances their organicism and three-dimensional character.

The combination of two artisanal techniques, hand-tufting and carving, allows for the creation of their intricate details and dynamically textured appearance, as this enables different elevations within the same design.
