Italian glass design house Tonelli Design has unveiled a trio of remarkable lighting pieces during Milan Design Week, revealing a poetic union of material innovation, sculptural form, and artisanal craftsmanship. The collection introduces three striking designs, Cathedral by Studio14, Rook by Karim Rashid, and an expanded Hyperion range by Massimo Castagna, each reflecting the brand's commitment to pushing the boundaries of lighting design through expressive glasswork.
The new launches embody Tonelli's continued evolution as a curator of refined, design-led lighting for contemporary interiors.

Cathedral - Studio 14.
Cathedral – Studio14
The centrepiece of the presentation is Cathedral, a dramatic suspension lamp from Studio14 designers Diego Bassetti and Andrea Panzieri. Described as "majestic and refined," the piece takes its name from its towering, geometric form.
'With its majestic and refined structure,' explain Studio14, 'Cathedral evokes the grandeur of a cathedral, where every detail is designed to reflect light in an enchanting play of transparencies and shadows. Each module is made with metal and glass slats that, arranged geometrically, create a dynamic, almost sculptural visual effect.'
Designed with smoked or bronze fused glass and finished in either champagne or titanium-toned metal, the modular chandelier creates a soft diffusion of light through its precision-cut elements. The contrast between metal and glass creates, as the designers describe, 'a sophisticated character, ideal for modern and classy environments.'
The dimmable LED fixture (3000K) is height-adjustable up to 4 metres, offering flexibility for various spatial applications.

Rook - Karim Rashid.
Rook – Karim Rashid
Globally renowned designer Karim Rashid brings his distinctive, emotionally resonant aesthetic to the Rook table lamp. The piece balances form and colour, shaped through the traditional mouth-blown glass technique.
'The glass mouth-blowing technique gives the lamp a handcrafted charm and a unique imperfection that tells the story of each piece,' notes Rashid.
Available in Dark Amber, Smoked, Bronze, and Peafowl Green, Rook delivers soft, ambient lighting with dimmable LED technology, celebrating the richness of artisanal detail and playful chromatic design.

Hyperion - Massimo Castagna.
Hyperion – Massimo Castagna
Building on the success of Hyperion, Massimo Castagna introduces new table and floor lamp versions to this sculptural family. Composed of rounded glass cubes and polished metal finishes in chrome, gold or gunmetal, the collection is designed for modular composition across interiors, from living spaces to bedrooms and offices.
With hanging options ranging from individual pendants to five-cube chandeliers, the Hyperion series offers architects and designers a flexible yet cohesive lighting system. The lamps feature G4 LED (3000K) lighting and height customisation from 110cm to 600cm.
Since the 1980s, Tonelli Design has collaborated with international designers to elevate glass as a noble and timeless material. Under the artistic direction of Massimo Castagna since 2020, the brand continues its expansion into new creative territories, reinforcing its role as a global voice in high-end furniture and lighting.
