Antolini brings botanical inspiration to Luxembourg penthouse

Rising above the skyline of Luxembourg on the 26th floor of a modern skyscraper, a new penthouse interior pays tribute to one of the world's most iconic gardens: the Jardin Exotique of Monaco. Designed by DNA Design Lab, the 260-square-metre apartment is a luxurious nod to Mediterranean warmth and botanical grandeur, masterfully anchored by the natural elegance of Antolini stone.

The inspiration behind the project is deeply personal. The client, with strong emotional ties to Monaco's famous clifftop garden, renowned for its rare succulents and sweeping views, envisioned a space that would channel the same sense of natural wonder and open horizon.

Perched like its muse above the urban landscape, the penthouse boasts expansive glass walls that blur the line between interior and void, much like the garden's own panoramic position overlooking the sea. DNA Design Lab embraced this vision with a materials-first approach, marrying natural wood with carefully curated stone selections from Antolini, a leading brand in the natural stone industry.

'Having the opportunity to see and touch an infinite selection of natural stones with our own hands was undoubtedly a plus in terms of the project,' said Alexey Dyakov, founder of DNA Design Lab. 'It made it possible for us to find and select those surfaces that best met our needs and desires in terms of patterns and colours. The collaboration proved more than positive in terms of the variety of surfaces available and, above all, the assistance and collaboration we enjoyed throughout the process, from selection to installation.'

The visual and material centrepiece of the interior is Camouflage, a standout marble from Antolini's Natural Stone Collection. This dynamic surface brings together earthy, sandy tones in an almost topographic arrangement, evocative of satellite imagery of the Earth. The marble sets the chromatic tone for the rest of the interiors, influencing complementary stone choices and wooden features throughout.

Camouflage features prominently in the living and dining areas, where it plays off the vertical rhythm of the space, echoed in stained oak panelling and strong architectural window dividers. This tension between verticality and organic pattern creates a unique balance, elevating the apartment from luxury dwelling to serene sanctuary.

Key to the project's execution was Marble&Granite Services, a Verona-based firm specialising in the supply and bespoke processing of natural stone. Their expertise ensured the flawless realisation of the designers' vision, from precision cutting to final installation.

With its roots in a botanical dream and realised through craftsmanship and material excellence, the penthouse stands as a testament to timeless design. Antolini's role in bringing this harmony of stone and story to life underscores the brand's position as a benchmark in the natural stone industry.
