Westwing enters professional tennis as premium partner

Westwing has announced its first foray into sports sponsorship, partnering with two of Germany's most prestigious tennis events: the Terra Wortmann Open in Halle and the Hamburg Ladies Open at the iconic Rothenbaum venue. This strategic move marks a key milestone in Westwing's brand evolution, aiming to elevate visibility and emotional resonance among its core audience of design enthusiasts.

'By entering the world of professional tennis, we reinforce our positioning not only as a one-stop destination for premium Home & Living, but as a lifestyle brand that lives and breathes Beautiful Living, whether at home or at centre court. We're incredibly excited to bring our love brand to the tennis community, a community that shares our deep passion for style, design and inspiration,' said Rik Strubel, CMO of Westwing.

Central to Westwing's activation is a bespoke player bench, crafted by its in-house creative team and inspired by insights from Germany's top female tennis player Eva Lys. Positioned on a branded podium at the heart of the court, the bench exemplifies Westwing's commitment to sophisticated, functional design and reflects the brand's creative vision within a live sporting context.

At both tournaments, more than 125,000 visitors will experience Westwing's world of Beautiful Living through immersive pop-up installations. Each 200 sqm space will showcase Westwing's latest outdoor collection, merging the energy of elite tennis with the elegance of interior design. Visitors can explore unique highlights such as an "Ocean Wave" tennis ball wall, a playful mini-maxi Westwing museum, and styled lounge areas that seamlessly blend sport and style.

These curated environments are designed to engage, inspire, and emotionally connect with guests, turning casual spectators into future Westwing customers. The brand's presence transcends product, embedding itself within a cultural moment that resonates with its values and aesthetic.

To extend the campaign's reach, Westwing is launching a nationwide TV campaign, directed by Ale Ruiz Zorrilla and featuring Eva Lys. Airing on Eurosport and other key networks during the French Open and Terra Wortmann Open, the campaign positions Lys as a modern icon of individuality and performance. She recently made history at the Australian Open as the first female Lucky Loser to reach the round of 16.

'Tennis takes me all over the world, but home is where I recharge, it's my place of comfort and inspiration. That's why partnering with Westwing feels so natural. Their passion for beautiful, individual design reflects the same dedication and personality I bring to the court. I'm proud to be part of a collaboration that brings elegance and creativity to the world of tennis in such a unique and meaningful way,' said Eva Lys.

This partnership reflects a shared dedication to style, individuality, and inspiration – anchoring Westwing not just in homes, but in the cultural spaces that shape modern lifestyle.
