This move follows the success of its inaugural large-format store in Wilmette, Illinois, which celebrated its first anniversary this year. Since its opening, the Wilmette store has welcomed over 720,000 visitors, with more than half of purchasing customers being new to the Wayfair brand. The store has maintained a customer Net Promoter Score above 70%, created over 120 local jobs, and recorded a 15% higher growth rate in Illinois than the national average. Wayfair also noted a 50%+ increase in impulse purchases and a 35%+ rise in major renovation-related sales in the Chicago area.

The Yonkers store will span approximately 114,000 square feet within the Ridge Hill lifestyle centre in Westchester County. It will feature 19 departments across furniture, décor, home improvement, and outdoor living, all curated by style. A wide selection of "Wayfair Verified" products will be available, offering customers quality assurance.

'New York is one of the most design-forward markets in the world,' said Liza Lefkowski, vice president of merchandising and stores at Wayfair. 'This location lets us serve everyone from Manhattan to Westchester and beyond with an inspiring, full-scale shopping experience.'

Its proximity to Wayfair's New Jersey fulfilment centre will support fast delivery of large items, further enhancing convenience.

Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano welcomed the development, calling Wayfair "a premier go-to destination for home shopping" and praised the move as another example of the city attracting transformative businesses.
