A Herning-based carpet company is aiming to double its annual revenue to DKK 2 billion, targeting the high-end market to achieve this goal. Founded nearly 90 years ago, the company is already one of Europe's leading textile flooring manufacturers, with products used in hotels, offices, hospitals, schools, transport, and private homes.

In 2023, Ege Carpets recorded net revenue of DKK 1.2 billion, a modest rise from DKK 1.16 billion in 2022. Operating profit increased to DKK 69.8 million from DKK 57 million, and gross profit reached DKK 446.2 million. The workforce grew to 605 employees.
Chairman of the board Søren Eskildsen, who is also CEO of Louis Poulsen, said the company is now entering a new phase: 'We see a place in the market where we have a lot to offer. It's about positioning Ege even more in the high-end segment.' He did not specify a timeline for reaching the revenue target but emphasised a clear strategic direction.
The company is also undergoing leadership change. CEO Rune Stephansen, who has led Ege since 2021, is stepping down to seek a role closer to his home in Gothenburg. His tenure saw a major consolidation, bringing together the company's operations under one name and culture. Ege is now searching for a successor with experience in the design and flooring industries.
Despite leadership transitions, the company remains focused on expansion and brand elevation. Ege's commitment to quality and market repositioning is central to its vision of becoming a more recognised name in premium flooring.
