Swedish design brand LAYERED unveils two new rug collections - The Sicilian and Scallop Jute - crafted from jute, a fast-growing, biodegradable plant fiber known for its durability and earthy texture. Much like wood, jute brings warmth and a relaxed atmosphere to any space, making it a natural fit for dining areas, living rooms, lounges, or even outdoor settings.

With Scallop Jute, LAYERED blends playful design with a sense of Italian elegance. The rug features a soft, scalloped edge that adds a subtle yet eye-catching twist to the classic jute weave. To achieve this fluid shape, the jute is braided and coiled into circular forms, then finished with a refined accent border available in Burgundy, Dark Green, or Misty Blue.
The Sicilian Jute draws inspiration from the iconic checkerboard ceramic floors found in grand Italian villas and palazzos. The design pairs bold, graphic patterns with traditional craftsmanship, resulting in a modern take on timeless style. The collection is offered in three citrus-inspired colorways: soft yellow Daffodil, vibrant green Clover, and Natural.
