The BALANCE collection, described internally as a study in contrast and coexistence, will be a central part of the company's exhibition. Koen Bodyn, Design Manager Europe and Design Support Manager, notes: 'The BALANCE collection is about bringing harmony to spaces, offering a perfect blend of bold design and subtle serenity.' Designed to reflect the interplay of opposites, the collection incorporates aesthetic and structural decisions meant to address themes of duality within domestic environments.
Recyclable covers and digital product passports
BekaertDeslee will also present its INFINITY COVER, a recyclable mattress cover made entirely from polyester, 91% of which is recycled content. The product includes a Digital Product Passport to enhance traceability and enable end-of-life management. The company positions this development as a technical step towards circular manufacturing.
The INFINITY COVER was recently recognised by the German Innovation Awards. According to Peter Hostyn, Head of R&D Functional Technologies, 'These awards validate our mission to shape the future of sleep through bold, meaningful innovation.'
This product, along with PURIFAIR, a patented odour-neutralising technology developed in collaboration with a University of Cambridge spin-off, will also be on display during the trade fair. PURIFAIR is designed to address the post-unboxing experience of mattresses, mitigating chemical odours without the use of toxic agents.

New carbon measurement tool introduced
A further development will be a tool designed to assess the carbon footprint of textiles and mattress covers. The aim, according to the company, is to support more transparent decision-making in the product development phase and across supply chains.
The company continues to align its strategy around climate and circularity themes, citing the need for reduced environmental impact in sleep solutions. As stated in company communication, 'We continue to develop products that not only enhance comfort but also minimise environmental impact.'
Positioning within the European supply ecosystem
With operations in 19 countries and part of the Haniel Group, BekaertDeslee has indicated its intent to maintain a presence close to its market stakeholders. Its stand at Interzum cologne 2025 will serve as a platform to connect with architects, retailers, suppliers, and manufacturers across the European interior and bedding sectors.
The showcased developments will serve as reference points in ongoing conversations about material accountability, modular product design, and cross-sector collaboration in sleep technologies.
The innovations mentioned will be available for viewing during the Interzum cologne 2025 fair. Further technical documentation and demonstrations are expected to be offered during the event.
