German bedroom furniture manufacturer Nolte Möbel will permanently cease operations by July 2025, following a prolonged financial struggle. The company, founded in 1955 and based in Germersheim, Rhineland-Palatinate, filed for bankruptcy in November 2023 and has since attempted a restructuring process and search for new investors, efforts that ultimately proved unsuccessful.

Despite management changes, including the departure of CEO Oliver Bialowons in June 2024 and the appointment of Jan Paschen from 1 July 2024, the company was unable to reverse its decline. Initiatives in procurement, logistics, and services failed to stabilise the business.
On 28 April 2025, the company informed its remaining 230 to 250 employees of the impending closure. A further 80 to 90 layoffs were announced the following day. The last orders are being fulfilled by the remaining workforce, with full closure expected by July unless an investor intervenes at the last minute.
In a statement to Die Rheinpfalz, court-appointed receiver Steffen Rauschenbusch described April as "disastrous" and highlighted ongoing economic and geopolitical challenges impacting the wider business environment.
It is important to note that this closure affects only Nolte Möbel GmbH & Co. KG and does not impact the Nolte Group or its subsidiaries. The two entities have operated independently since their legal separation in September 2020, when the Nolte Group shifted focus exclusively to its kitchen division.
The closure marks the end of a 70-year legacy in bedroom furniture manufacturing, a significant moment in the history of German furniture production.
