A new chapter for award winning England furniture retailer

An award-winning home and furniture retailer is set to unveil a new concept store at a popular destination in north Sheffield this spring. The store will occupy the former Sandersons Department Store premises, transforming the space into a retail hub for quality furniture and homewares.

Shackletons, a family-run business founded 26 years ago by brothers David and Paul Shackleton, is launching its latest location at Fox Valley. The new 14,726sqft store will feature furniture, home décor, soft furnishings, gifting, and kitchenware, alongside pieces from British design house Gallery.

The ground floor will include outdoor furniture, dining suites, sofas, and accessories, while the first floor will serve as a showroom for bedroom furniture and include a café overlooking the store's entrance.

The business, which began in Chatburn, Ribble Valley, has expanded steadily, including a successful outlet at Redbrick Mill in Batley. The move to Fox Valley also secures roles for former Sandersons staff, reinforcing the brand's commitment to local employment.

Co-founder David Shackleton said Fox Valley was a natural choice: 'It's a beautiful destination in a really great part of Yorkshire, a place that will always be close to my heart.'

Fox Valley is owned and managed by Dransfield Properties. Managing Director James Shepherd welcomed the addition, stating: 'We are particularly pleased to have secured a great family-run business... it's going to bring something completely fresh and different to Fox Valley.'

The store's launch aligns with Fox Valley's ninth anniversary and broader plans to refresh the retail offering at the centre.
