German bathroom manufacturer seeks restructuring after filing for insolvency

A German bathroom furniture manufacturer based in Heideck, filed for insolvency on 5 May 2025, citing economic difficulties. The Nuremberg District Court has ordered provisional insolvency administration and appointed Peter Roeger of PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH as the provisional insolvency administrator.

Despite this setback, Heibad Badmöbel Vertriebs GmbH's operations will continue as normal. The wages of its approximately 120 employees are secured through insolvency benefits for April, May, and June, with advance financing being prepared to ensure timely payments.

Attorney Peter Roeger noted that the company was "solidly positioned" and that initial discussions with both management and staff were "open and solution-oriented." The company now aims to create a successful restructuring plan with the assistance of Roeger's team, which includes Jacqueline Tilberis and Maximilian Wanko.

The insolvency was triggered by a decline in orders and sales due to challenging market conditions, leading to liquidity issues. Heibad is now pursuing a structured M&A process to find investors or partners for a long-term solution. Despite the challenges, management remains optimistic, with the team stating: 'We see this as an opportunity to stabilize the company and reposition it for the future.'

Heibad, founded in 2000, is known for producing high-quality bathroom furniture in Germany, using modern machinery and skilled craftsmanship. The company has grown from a sales entity into a full-fledged industrial enterprise with its own production facilities. The company is led by managing partners Martin Uhlig and Andreas Schmidpeter since 2016.
