American flooring company Interface has released its financial results for the first quarter of 2025. With net sales of $297 million (equivalent to over €261 million), the company posted a year-over-year increase of 2.6%. According to the financial report, net profit amounted to $13 million, representing an 8.3% decline compared to the same period last year.
CEO Laurel Hurd stated that Interface had a solid start to the year, with a currency-neutral net sales growth of 4% year-over-year. 'Strong momentum continued in North and South America, where net sales grew by 6% and currency-neutral orders increased by 10%, partially offset by a weaker macroeconomic environment in EAAA,' Hurd explained. 'Global sales in both healthcare and education grew by double digits, demonstrating the strength of our strategy, which continues to diversify and reinforce our business.'
The results from the first quarter highlight the ongoing success of the "One Interface" strategy, which focuses on accelerating growth, improving margins, and guiding customers in design, performance, and sustainability. 'To support these goals, we recently appointed our first Vice President of Global Product Category Management to accelerate and optimise our product innovation pipeline. This ensures we continue to deliver world-class products that meet the evolving needs of the market while embodying the essence of Interface,' said Hurd.
According to the report, the company exceeded expectations in the first three months of the year and is forecasting a strong second quarter. 'These results reflect our team's disciplined execution in a dynamic macroeconomic environment,' said Bruce Hausmann, CFO of Interface. 'We are navigating the current landscape from a position of strength, as our One Interface strategy continues to deliver tangible results and our strong balance sheet provides both opportunities and flexibility. We remain focused on delivering long-term value for our shareholders.'
For the second quarter of this year, Interface expects net sales between $355 and $365 million. For the full year 2025, the company projects net sales of approximately $1.5 billion.
