Labanto introduces "Sospensioni: The matter of mirrors"

The collection Sospensioni by Labanto moves along the subtle boundary between reality and reflection, between what is and what appears to be. In these works, the concept of the mirror is overcome to become a place of tension between matter and perception.

Conceived and created by Francesca Brinatti, architect and artist, Labanto is an artistic project created in Turin. It reinterprets the ancient 18th-century technique of silvering in a contemporary key, giving life to mirrors that are the fruit of an entirely hand-crafted process where liquid silver, glass, and oxidative minerals are combined in a complex interaction of natural elements.

The result are unique creations, loaded with vibrant energy and expressive freedom, like, precisely, 'Sospensioni' (suspensions) where matter itself – surprising and changeable – is the main focus.

The signs of oxidation are revealed in the dynamic traits, suspended shapes, and textures trapped within the silver. Each work gives life to live images that challenge aesthetic conventions. The reflection does not simply convey an image, but invites you to dive into the depth of the mirror and listen to the voice of the material itself.

In some works, decomposed and recomposed fragments find a balance in geometric structures, while in others, delicate fluctuating shapes transport the viewer to a dreamlike elsewhere. Sospensioni is not simply a collection to be admired, but a subtle invitation to slow down the pace of our glance, to give up our search for sharp images at let ourselves be captured by the appeal of matter.

Labanto thus continues on the path of its artistic exploration, proposing works that question and evoke sensations and emotions, transforming every glance into a moment of discovery.
