Earlier this week, CNBC revealed that Temu has immediately stopped shipping products directly to the United States. A spokesperson for the Chinese webshop explained further.

"In the US, consumer prices have remained unchanged as we switch to a local 'fulfilment model'. This means that all orders are now handled by US sellers and shipped from within the country. We are actively engaging more US sellers on the platform to help them grow their business and reach more customers."

Temu is also pushing hard in Europe. "In Europe, we are integrating local sellers in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Austria and Sweden. This local approach helps reduce delivery times, improve product availability and support the local economy. We aim to handle 80% of European sales locally."
