CDS Superstores, owner of The Range and Wilko, is set to open several newly formatted superstores on former Homebase locations starting May 9, 2025. This follows the company's acquisition of the Homebase brand and 70 of its stores after the DIY chain went into administration last year.
Four new stores will launch in:
- Santry
- Woodside Park
- Sheffield
- Tiverton
- Cookstown
These revamped outlets will merge The Range's wide product selection with Homebase's home improvement heritage, and each will include a 'Garden Centres by Homebase' section.
Alex Simpkin, CEO of CDS Superstores, stated the company is committed to preserving Homebase's legacy while expanding its product variety and maintaining value for customers. CDS plans to reopen at least 45 of the acquired locations under this new model, with 15 launches confirmed for 2025.
The initiative emphasises CDS's focus on:
- Strengthening retail presence
- Retaining jobs
- Boosting local economies
- Enhancing the overall customer experience
