Ashley Garside, head of operations at Hypnos, has been awarded the Production Leader title at the Next Generation Awards 2025. Organised by Commercial Interiors UK, the awards recognise emerging talent in the contract furnishing sector.

Ashley was celebrated for his leadership of the One Hypnos project, which successfully reintegrated the company's hospitality mattress and bed production into its Princes Risborough facility. The initiative aimed to unify manufacturing under one roof, strengthen the "One Hypnos" culture, and improve efficiency while continuing to serve both UK and international clients.
The judging panel commended Ashley's "people-first approach" and praised his "clarity and impact" in driving performance and fostering a supportive team culture. They described him as a "standout talent" and a role model for future industry leaders.
Under his leadership, the project delivered substantial gains in production capacity, improved craftsmanship, and enhanced team morale. Ashley also introduced new standards in quality and process integration.
David Baldy, group managing director at Hypnos, said the entire team was proud of Ashley's achievement. He highlighted Ashley's commitment to learning, innovation, and sustainable design, adding that he plays a key role in mentoring apprentices and engaging with all levels of the business, including during factory visits.
In response to the award, Ashley expressed gratitude to the judges, Commercial Interiors UK, and his team. 'Together we have achieved so much,' he said. 'It's a privilege to lead people whose commitment to each other, our values, and what we craft, shines through. I'm truly proud to work alongside such a talented group of people.'
The award was presented at a ceremony held at Hallé St Peters in Manchester.
