In April 2025, Vermund Larsen A/S (VELA) was named "Denmark's Best Workplace" in the 49–499 employee category by the organisation Great Place to Work. The award was presented during a ceremony held on 4 April at Falkoner Hall in Frederiksberg.
The recognition followed an independent employee survey assessing job satisfaction, company culture, and internal dynamics. According to Great Place to Work, 98% of employees at VELA responded positively regarding the workplace, a figure reported to be above the average benchmark used by the organisation.
CEO Per Buus stated that the result reflected a culture marked by internal trust and a defined working environment. VELA was noted for consistency in employee experience across the organisation.
VELA experienced growth in revenue, production, and staffing in recent years. The company continued to focus on internal values, employee engagement, and workplace practices across its locations in Denmark, the UK, Germany, Norway, and the United States.
In addition to the 2025 recognition, VELA was also listed among the top three workplaces for seniors in Denmark for the second consecutive year. The company had previously received this recognition in 2024.
The year also marked the 90th anniversary of VELA, originally founded by furniture designer Vermund Larsen in 1935. The company continued its focus on manufacturing assistive devices and specialist chairs for healthcare professionals. The anniversary highlighted the company's operational history and its workplace structure developed over multiple generations.
