Eric Rondolat, departing CEO of the Eindhoven-based lighting company Signify, is making the transition to the French multinational Groupe SEB. He will be nominated on May 20 as an independent director during the company's annual shareholders' meeting, known for brands such as Tefal, Moulinex, Krups, and Rowenta. This is reported by the Eindhovens Dagblad (ED).
Rondolat will join the board of directors of Groupe SEB, which consists of fourteen members. His experience in leading a publicly traded company – such as Signify, formerly the lighting division of Philips – is seen by the French company as a valuable addition. Groupe SEB, based near Lyon, has approximately the same number of employees as Signify, but with a turnover of over 8.3 billion euros, it is slightly larger.
The appointment is for a term of four years. Rondolat, who holds both French and Italian nationality, is in a sense following the path of Philips, which in the past had an interest in Moulinex – now a subsidiary of SEB.
