Interview with Victoire Dauviau Lambert from AKANTE on the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2025

'We were able to introduce many visitors to the brand'

AKANTE made its debut at Salone del Mobile this year, presenting a range of dining and seating solutions designed around functional mechanisms and material variety. The French brand used the Milan platform to introduce its product offer to a wider European B2B audience, with an emphasis on adaptable formats for contemporary residential interiors.

'The experience went well, and we were very pleased to be taking part in the Milan furniture fair for the first time,' said Victoire Dauviau Lambert of AKANTE. 'We were able to introduce many visitors to the brand, which was very positive.'

Among the new launches were the AJACCIO dining table with a patented synchronised extension mechanism, a rotating ceramic turntable feature offered in 11 colours, and new models in the coffee and occasional table segment. Seating additions included the BELFAST and PRAGUE chairs. All were shown within a curated booth concept intended to reflect a southern European setting.

'It's an ingenious and elegant accessory that's available as an option on our tables and has proved very popular with our customers,' Lambert said of the ceramic turntable feature, aimed at improving access on large-format and deep tables.

While AKANTE did not report spotting dominant new trends in Milan, the brand referenced mechanical innovation across multiple product typologies as an ongoing theme at the fair.

'Our presence at the Salone del Mobile was very important because we are increasingly working with international customers and developing new markets,' Lambert stated. 'This show enabled us to confirm the value of our presence by attracting international customers to our products.'

Looking ahead to 2025, AKANTE is concentrating on expanding within the Italian market while also exploring opportunities in additional territories. The brand has not disclosed specific launch dates but confirmed that international growth is central to its strategy moving forward.

AKANTE's showing in Milan suggests a continued interest in hybrid dining configurations, with modular features and optional upgrades positioned as key value drivers for professional specifiers and retail buyers.
