Ikea has strengthened its presence in the Paris region with two major developments. On 27 March, the Swedish company opened a new "Design and Order Workshop" in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. Located at 147 bis rue Cardinet within the "My Cardinet" shopping centre, the 145 m² space is dedicated to supporting customers with kitchen and storage projects. It offers personalised appointments with Ikea experts, self-service planning tools, and inspiration through smart interior layouts.
This opening complements Ikea's existing Paris locations, including stores at Rivoli and Italie Deux, and another workshop at Daumesnil. The company describes this move as part of its broader omnichannel strategy to blend digital and physical experiences while improving accessibility for urban residents. Solène Débus, Director of Parisian Stores at Ikea France, noted that the new space aims to provide "a simpler and more practical" service, adapted to the needs of Parisians living in compact spaces.
One day earlier, on 26 March, Ikea laid the foundation stone for a new logistics centre in Limay (Yvelines). Set to open by the end of 2026, the 60,000 m² warehouse will be built on land owned by Haropa Port. With an annual capacity of 380,000 m³ of goods, it is expected to serve over 700,000 customers across Île-de-France and western France.
The facility will play a key role in Ikea's efforts to decarbonise its supply chain. Deliveries to central Paris will increasingly rely on river transport and electric vehicles. Johan Laurell, President and Chief Sustainable Officer of Ikea France, described Limay as "an essential link in the logistics network" and a priority for "sustainable growth" in a region that represents a third of the brand's French turnover.
