A 31-year-old man has been arrested after crashing a £150,000 Range Rover into a newly built stone wall near David and Victoria Beckham's £12 million countryside mansion in Great Tew, Oxfordshire. The vehicle, reportedly travelling at high speed, destroyed part of the boundary wall belonging to the Great Tew Estate, which leases land to the exclusive Soho Farmhouse.

Police were called to the scene early Sunday morning following the late-night incident. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police confirmed: 'A 31-year-old man from West Oxfordshire was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink and failing to stop after a road accident. He remains in police custody.'
Eyewitnesses described the crash as "almighty", with skid marks across the road and the vehicle's airbags deployed. Locals believe the vehicle had left Soho Farmhouse, where guests had attended a performance by Will Young and a book signing by Geri Halliwell earlier that evening.
The crash occurred just metres from the Beckham family's home. A source said: 'Even in a Land Rover you would have to be going at a hell of a pace to get through a new wall like that. It's incredible no-one was hurt or killed.'
The Great Tew Estate, owned by Nicholas Johnston, a close friend of former Prime Minister David Cameron, had recently undergone refurbishment, including the installation of new gates and walls.
The offences in question carry maximum penalties of six months in prison and unlimited fines. A recovery vehicle was seen removing the damaged Range Rover by 7.30am the following morning. The Sun has contacted Soho Farmhouse for comment.
