Koots wins German Design Award for debut chair

Polish furniture brand Koots has made a strong international debut, receiving the German Design Award 2025 for its Angle chair. The award, presented in Frankfurt am Main, marks a significant milestone for the newly launched brand and its creative team, led by artistic director Adam Pulwicki, founder of the PULVA studio.

The German Design Award, one of the most prestigious honours in the design world, evaluated entries from 59 countries this year. Only 39 products were selected in the "Excellent Design" category, with the Koots Angle chair earning recognition for its innovative craftsmanship and minimalist yet ergonomic design.

Designed by the PULVA studio team, the Angle chair is crafted from solid oak and reflects Koots' philosophy of combining comfort with timeless simplicity. Pulwicki stated that the team developed five prototypes to ensure optimal ergonomics, adding that clients of the PULVA studio helped shape the design by sharing insights into what they value in home comfort. He noted: 'This is an oak chair, not 3D printing or AI, and that's precisely why it stands out.'

The Angle collection is one of three lines launched by Koots, alongside Soft and Line, each offering carefully curated textures and colour palettes inspired by nature. Koots aims to create spaces that foster calm, connection, and regeneration.

Founded by Michalina and Tomasz Misiorny, Koots presented its premiere collections during the award ceremony in Frankfurt. The recognition from a jury of design experts from 16 countries confirms the brand's arrival on the international stage and signals its potential as a rising name in European furniture design.
