BORA will soon produce its own products. With the decision to invest in its own factory, the company is taking an important step towards independence, investing in a production site near its headquarters in Niederndorf/Tyrol. Thanks to close cooperation with the development teams, the in-house production allows the manufacturer of premium built-in kitchen appliances to integrate innovations into series production faster than before. The timetable for the vertical plant is ambitious: production at the plant will start in the second half of 2026.
The choice of a local production location is well-considered and well-founded. For several reasons, BORA deliberately chose a production facility in the Bavarian-Austrian border region and against an investment abroad, where lower labour costs apply. Thanks to the short distance between technical development and the production teams at the existing site in Niederndorf, BORA can bring its new developments to market faster and respond directly to customer requirements and market changes. This benefits both end customers and partners in the kitchen trade.
BORA founder and CEO Willi Bruckbauer is fully aware of the impact of this decision on the entire company and the teams that have hitherto worked exclusively on an administrative basis: "The factory is a clearly visible sign to the outside world that our company is constantly evolving. The change from "buying" to "making your own" represents a real transformation for every employee. I feel a very positive atmosphere and am convinced that together we can achieve incredible things." The recruitment managers in the HR department are already hard at work building the production teams. Setting up the production processes, including the integration of the latest technologies, is also in full swing.
