Nichetto Studio revealed a series of highly anticipated collaborations and installations during Milan Design Week 2025, showcasing a rich tapestry of set designs, product launches, and material storytelling across multiple venues.
"Alchemic Jewel" for Barovier & Toso: 730 years of glassmaking
One of the standout features was the exhibition "Alchemic Jewel" for Barovier & Toso, presented across three locations: Euroluce, the Milan showroom, and the Venice boutique. The installation paid tribute to over seven centuries of Murano glass artistry, highlighting Barovier & Toso's heritage.
The concept combined "Alchemic", representing the transformative process of glassmaking, and "Jewels", symbolising the uniqueness of each handcrafted piece. 'Alchemic recalls the ancient art of transforming raw materials into something extraordinary, just as sand becomes glass through fire, water and air. Jewels emphasises the preciousness and uniqueness of each creation, made with a mastery that has been handed down through generations,' read the studio's statement.
The Euroluce stand, inspired by Venetian architecture, featured a portico echoing the Procuratie of St. Mark's Square and five display zones narrating the brand's design journey. A cohesive visual language connected the three venues through oversized jewel boxes and a molten-glass-inspired red sculpture, symbolising the magical process of creation.
"Exodus" installation with Bolon and JoAnn Tan Studio
In another collaboration, Nichetto Studio joined forces with Bolon and JoAnn Tan Studio to produce "Exodus", a dreamlike installation in a historic textile factory in Milan. Known for its roots in sustainable flooring, Bolon provided the perfect medium for this sensory exploration.
"Exodus" transformed Bolon's woven textiles into organic, creature-like forms, evoking the depths of a mythical forest. 'It is a parallel world, a fantastical ecosystem where Bolon's textile flooring have come to life, morphing into mysterious creatures,' described the team.
Both Tan and Nichetto were united by a shared passion: 'to transform materials into stories, to shape emotions, to create experiences that leave a mark.'
New product launches: Venexia, TEO and De La Espada collaborations
Nichetto Studio also introduced new indoor and outdoor designs. The Venexia club armchair for Ethimo expanded the brand's outdoor range with a smaller, wraparound seat that maintained the signature mix of aluminium frames and premium materials. The chair exemplified "comfort and harmony, just like the whole collection preaches."
In the Brera Design District, the TEO lamp for Salvatori debuted, marrying delicate paper with solid marble in a sculptural, USB-chargeable lamp. 'The result is a mini sculpture that dances with light, playing on the beautiful contrast between the eternal strength of stone and the fleeting elegance of paper.'
Meanwhile, in Portugal, two new additions were made to Nichetto's collaborations with De La Espada: the sculptural AZORES lounge armchair, and extensions to the SELA range, including benches and a new two-seater sofa. These pieces continued to champion fine craftsmanship, curved forms and modularity.
From Murano to Milan and the Azores, Nichetto Studio's Milan Design Week 2025 narrative was a masterclass in material storytelling, timeless form and design-driven emotion.
