Philly furniture founders behind hit AppleTV+ "Severance" pieces

Rarify founders Jeremy Bilotti and David Rosenwasser, based in Philadelphia, played a pivotal role in furnishing the unsettling world of Severance, the hit AppleTV+ series. The pair, both MIT and Harvard graduates, specialise in sourcing and restoring hard-to-find vintage furniture, including key pieces seen on the show.

Among their contributions is the green-upholstered John Behringer 1961 Link Bench, which appears in the show's second season, notably where Miss Huang (Sarah Bock) waits for Mark Scout (Adam Scott). Another notable item is a $15,500 Washington Prism lounge set by David Adjaye, featured in the home of Jame Eagan (Michael Siberry), and a Gerald Luss credenza in Burt Goodman's (Christopher Walken) home.

A memorable moment came with the appearance of a Charles Webb crib, which plays a significant role in the show's season finale. The crib, discovered after a long search, had previously been spotted in Mark and Gemma Scout's house.

Bilotti and Rosenwasser, who opened their Bella Vista showroom and manage a 80,000-square-foot warehouse, were approached by Severance's set team after collaborating on The Flight Attendant. They sourced rare, high-quality pieces for the show, with items frequently in short supply. 'We were thrilled to be part of such a unique project,' said Bilotti, reflecting on their involvement.

As for future collaborations, the duo remains hopeful for a third season, with Bilotti comparing the role of furniture in Severance to that of Mad Men, integral to the show's identity and aesthetic.
