Recovery efforts following hurricanes Helene and Milton in Florida and southern US states continue, with many home and furnishing businesses having been hard hit by the turbulent weather. EJ Victor, a luxury furniture manufacturer based in Morganton, North Carolina, is one such businesses.
The company is facing significant production delays following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene on September 26. The team, however, will still participate in the High Point Market and anticipates resuming manufacturing of its upholstery and case goods lines by January 2025.

The storm resulted in over two feet of water flooding the production facility, damaging both inventory and administrative offices.
As a result, EJ Victor is in the process of rebuilding orders for its custom line, as the primary impact has been on raw materials and finished goods awaiting shipment. Company CEO Richard Oliver explained in reports that the loss of inventory has created an eight-week setback, as the furniture industry typically operates on lead times of five to eight weeks. Despite the challenges, Oliver noted that most machinery remained unharmed and the company's cloud-based data systems ensured critical information was preserved.
EJ Victor will participate in the upcoming High Point Market, showcasing its existing products, including the Shamsian and Antonia case goods collections, which were shipped from unaffected facilities. To address production gaps, the company has explored partnerships with local suppliers but remains cautious to maintain quality.
The company's customer base has shown remarkable support during this difficult time. Oliver expressed gratitude for the understanding shown by clients and the local community, which has provided essential supplies to affected workers.
