Recently, a popular French second-hand furniture platform announced its closure. Founded in 2018 by Manon Le Padellec and CĂ©line Taillard in Toulouse, the platform aimed to transform the perception of second-hand furniture by offering a curated selection of items, including brand-name sofas and decorative pieces. The company, Izidore, employed around a dozen staff members.
Izidore was built with the support of both individual sellers and professional furniture retailers who authenticated and resold pre-owned products. The company positioned itself as a trusted intermediary in the second-hand marketplace, ensuring quality in product selection, payment, and delivery.

On Instagram, the company shares: 'It is with great emotion that we announce the end of the Izidore adventure. After several years alongside you, our marketplace for second-hand furniture will cease its activities. We may be closing the Izidore chapter, but we are not closing the door on a more sustainable future. Let's continue to shape a fairer circular economy every day, in our own way.'
