Prominent Danish furniture chain to close next year

A prominent furniture chain that was sold to Sweden's BHG Group in 2017, will close all its stores by March 1, 2025. This decision comes after a period of financial struggles, with the company, My Home Møbler, accumulating losses of nearly 50 million DKK in the past two fiscal years. Director Hans Christian Andersen assured that the closure will be conducted responsibly, stating there are no plans for bankruptcy or payment defaults.

The chain's closure was initially revealed in September, and founder Jan Hallas confirmed that the stores will shut down gradually. The My Home store in Viborg is scheduled to vacate its premises by February 28, while the location in Nykøbing Falster is expected to close around the same time.

With the furniture industry facing tough conditions, Hallas acknowledged the challenges and expressed a commitment to fulfil all obligations to customers and suppliers.

The company holds 55 million DKK in equity, and Hallas is focused on ensuring a smooth transition during the closure process.
