Spanish furniture exports close the first half of 2024 with 0.9% growth

In the first half of 2024, Spanish furniture exports experienced a modest growth of 0.9%, totaling €1.549 billion. While international sales remained stable compared to the same period last year, imports of furniture rose by 3.4%. This data comes from the latest report by the National Association of Furniture Industries and Exporters of Spain (Anieme).

France continues to be the leading market for Spanish furniture, accounting for 27.8% of total exports. However, a decline of 3.2% in exports to France, along with decreases in sales to other key markets like the United States (down 10.9%), the United Kingdom (down 12.4%), and Morocco (down 22.6%), has impacted overall export figures.

The regions showing the most significant growth in exports were Galicia (+18.0%), Aragón (+13.5%), and the Basque Country (+13.0%). Conversely, major exporting regions such as Catalonia, Valencia, Madrid, and Murcia saw declines in their international furniture sales during the same period.

Despite the challenges, the importance of supporting key markets remains vital to recovering sales volumes and exploring new business opportunities.
