Venini unveils new Art Glass collections during Venice Glass Week

For the eighth edition of The Venice Glass Week, the international festival celebrating, supporting, and promoting the art of glass, Venini unveils the new Art Glass collections - I Paladini and I Paladini Celati - and Art Light - Silicea, Arenaria, Nodus, Tessela, Stratis, and Vestis - designed by the French designer Emmanuel Babled. The festival runs until September 22.

'We are delighted to unveil the new collections by Emmanuel Babled and to continue a collaboration that has continued for over thirty years. This long and fruitful partnership that highlights Venini's ability to capture the ideas and thoughts of this talented artist, enabling us to create extraordinary works together, in an ongoing dialogue between tradition and innovation.'

'I Paladini Celati'
Venini unveils 5 pieces that enhance 'I Paladini', the vase collection inspired by the busts of great historical figures, conceived by Babled in 2019. In this collection of unique, limited edition works, each piece is characterized by its distinct colour composition and marked with the exact date of its creation.

Emmanuel Babled, renowned for his expertise in working with materials and crafting forms that blend ancient elements with contemporary design, presents a new aesthetic evolution with the series 'I Paladini Celati'. Each 'Paladino Celato' tells a living story of history and innovation ¬ a glass jewel as captivating as an ancient statue. This new series is distinguished by the introduction of milk white glass, which envelops each form in a veil of mystery, concealing hidden beauty accessible only to the most discerning eyes. Every detail is a gesture of love for the art of glassmaking and the tradition of craftsmanship, making each "Celato" a unique and unrepeatable masterpiece.

Stratis and Vestis
Venini unveils the new 'Silicea' and 'Arenaria' lamps, which embody the power of nature. Forged from fire and molten glass, these lamps cast iridescent patterns of light and shadow, thanks to the granzioli, glass fragments of varying granularity.

The Art Light collection is joined by 'Nodus' and 'Tessela', works representing an imperfect weaving of glassy fibres, elaborated by the skilful hands of craftsmen. Their three-dimensionality, the result of intricate craftsmanship, highlights the duality between artisanal know-how and contemporary design.

Finally, the 'Stratis' and 'Vestis' are distinguished by intricate engravings that produce a captivating play of light. The etched layer of milk white glass reveals the underlying glass, emitting a warm and welcoming light from the inner diffuser, which is also hand-decorated. The engravings draw inspiration from luxurious silk weaves and fabrics from distant, exotic times.
