Last week, Conforama faced allegations of deceptive pricing practices, including misleading 'crossed-out' prices in stores, catalogues, and online. The accusations suggested that Conforama never actually sold products at these inflated prices and involved false price comparisons with competitors.
However, the case was heard at the Waadtländer Cantonal Court in Renens, where Conforama was ultimately acquitted of unfair competition charges. The court found no evidence of wrongdoing in their pricing practices.

Conforama's CEO, Jérôme Gilg, expressed satisfaction with the acquittal, emphasising that the company never intended to deceive consumers. He acknowledged the 5,000-franc fine for infractions related to price disclosure regulations and noted that errors affecting fewer than 100 products were attributed to past IT system issues.
Overall, the court's ruling confirms that Conforama did not engage in unfair competitive practices, while the retailer continues to address and rectify past pricing errors.
